“智慧人從生命的道上升，使他遠離在下的陰間。”

“The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.”
This passage describes how a wise person who fears God guides themselves toward a completely different destination through the choices they make in life. In the Bible, wisdom is not merely intelligence; it is a form of insight into life that allows us to know how to make the right decisions.
The way of life mentioned here does not refer to a flat, wide road, but rather a narrow path climbed and forged by the wise. This path symbolizes the vitality and abundance of life. In Hebrew culture, God dwells in the highest heavens; therefore, ascending represents spiritual progress, bringing us closer to God in our hearts.
At the same time, wise choices allow us to distance ourselves from the hell beneath. In a cultural context, the underworld represents death, depravity, and a negative destination. Choosing the upward path means we must turn away from directions that lead to the ruin of life. A wise person chooses to continually improve themselves, aligning their life with God’s will and refusing to simply drift with the tide. No matter how worldly moral standards change, we should adhere to the criteria given by God, allowing our lives to continue growing upward every day.
