(箴言 15:19)
“懶惰人的道，像荊棘的籬笆．正直人的路，是平坦的大道。”
這是在描述兩種截然不同的生活模式及其帶來的結果。首先說說懶惰人，這不只是指一個人不工作，而是一種對生活的態度。當生活出現困難時，他選擇不去處理，一個問題不解決，兩個問題也不解決，這些困難就像荊棘一樣不斷堆積。隨着問題越來越多，他的人生道路就會變得寸步難行，最終成為一種惡性循環。
相反地，正直人的路是平坦的。在希伯來文化中，正直與勤奮是息息相關的。一個正直的人在面對生命的挑戰時，會選擇立刻去解決。遇到一個障礙就移除一個，就像君王出巡的大道一樣，既平直又寬闊。這並不是因為他含着金鑰匙出生，或者特別幸福，有人幫忙，而是因為他願意聽從神的教導，主動且勤奮地排除萬難。
其實懶惰人和正直人遇到的困難是一樣多的，關鍵在於處理的態度。
我們應該做一個正直的人，對準神並聽從祂的話。當生命出現問題時，不要逃避或拖延，而是靠着神給予的力量去面對和解決。這樣，你就會行在大道上了。
(Proverbs 15:19)
“The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.”
This describes two entirely different lifestyles and their resulting consequences. First, let us speak of the slothful person. This does not merely refer to someone who does not work, but rather represents an attitude toward life. When difficulties arise, they choose not to deal with them. Leaving one problem unsolved, then another, these hardships begin to pile up like a thicket of thorns. As the issues accumulate, their path in life becomes impassable, eventually turning into a vicious cycle.
In contrast, the path of the righteous is level and smooth. In Hebrew culture, righteousness and diligence are closely intertwined. A righteous person chooses to address life’s challenges immediately. By removing each obstacle as it appears, their path remains as straight and wide as a highway prepared for a king. This is not because they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth or were exceptionally lucky to have others help them, but because they are willing to listen to God’s teachings and proactively, diligently overcome all difficulties.
In truth, the slothful and the righteous encounter the same amount of difficulty; the key lies in their attitude toward handling them. We should strive to be righteous people, aligning ourselves with God and listening to His word. When problems arise in life, do not avoid or delay them. Instead, rely on the strength given by God to face and resolve them. In doing so, you will walk upon a great and level highway.
