(馬太福音 5:20)
“我告訴你們，你們的義，若不勝於文士和法利賽人的義，斷不能進天國。”
馬太福音 5:20 提醒我們，若是我們的義不勝過文士和法利賽人的義，斷不能進天國。法利賽人的義往往停留在「死守律法」的層面，雖然他們在行為和儀式上做足了滿分，但那僅僅是外在的遵守。然而，上帝所要求的義，並非靠著人的意志去苦苦支撐，死守規條，而是從心底發出對神的愛。以致與神的「契合」。即是與神健立正確且親密的關係。
與神在這種關係中，讀經、禱告、奉獻或傳福音，都不再是沉重的束縛或宗教任務，而是生命中自然流露的結果。求上帝幫助我們，不滿足於外表的敬虔，而是讓生命在聖靈的帶領下，活出那份從心而發的義。

“For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 5:20 reminds us that unless our righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and the Pharisees, we will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. The righteousness of the Pharisees often remains at the level of strict legalism; although they achieved a perfect score in their outward behaviors and rituals, it was merely external compliance. However, the righteousness that God requires is not about human will struggling to maintain rules, but a love for God that springs from the depths of the heart. This leads to a harmony with God, which means establishing a right and intimate relationship with Him.
Within this relationship with God, Bible study, prayer, offering, or sharing the Gospel are no longer heavy burdens or religious tasks, but a natural overflow of life. May God help us not to be satisfied with outward godliness, but to allow our lives, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to live out that heart-felt righteousness.
