📖 (箴言 16:18)
“驕傲在敗壞以先．狂心在跌倒之前。”
這句話非常優美，但也給了我們深刻的警示。在希伯來文中，狂心指的是一個人的靈魂處於一種自大且高傲的狀態，將自己擺在一個極高的位置，甚至試圖超越神。當一個人的內心充滿這種狂傲，他便會行路不穩，最終導致跌倒和失敗。
狂心是一種內在的靈魂狀態，而驕傲則是這種內在狀態所顯露出來的外在行為。當一個人表現得霸氣十足、不可一世時，最終的結果必然是粉碎與毀壞，這在希伯來文中對應著生命價值的瓦解。這段經文重複強調了兩次相似的訊息，正是為了向我們發出極為嚴重的警告。
那麼我們該如何應對呢？答案很簡單，就是選擇謙卑。我們要明白，謙卑並不是神賜予的禮物，而是我們每個人主動的選擇。你可以選擇驕傲，也可以選擇謙卑。當我們選擇謙卑，降服在神的愛與恩典之下時，我們的內心就不會高傲，自然能避免跌倒與生命毀壞的結局。
我們需要時常檢視自己。事實上，如果沒有耶穌的幫助，我們什麼都不是，也什麼都做不到。這是一個必須正視的現實，絕對不要以為憑藉自己的聰明才智就能處理好一切。

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
These words are exceptionally beautiful, yet they provide us with a profound warning. In the original Hebrew, a haughty spirit refers to a state where a person’s soul is in an arrogant and lofty condition, placing oneself in an extremely high position, even attempting to surpass God. When a person’s heart is filled with such arrogance, they will walk unsteadily, ultimately leading to stumbling and failure.
A haughty spirit is an internal state of the soul, while pride is the external behavior manifested from this internal condition. When a person acts with overbearing dominance and insufferable arrogance, the final result is inevitably shattering and destruction; in Hebrew, this corresponds to the disintegration of life’s value. This passage repeats two similar messages precisely to issue an extremely serious warning to us.
So how should we respond? The answer is simple: choose humility. We must understand that humility is not a gift bestowed by God, but a proactive choice made by each of us. You can choose pride, or you can choose humility. When we choose humility and surrender under God’s love and grace, our hearts will not be haughty, and we will naturally avoid the outcome of falling and the destruction of life.
We need to constantly examine ourselves. In fact, without the help of Jesus, we are nothing and can do nothing. This is a reality that must be faced squarely; never assume that you can handle everything based on your own intelligence and talent.
