(箴言 16:8)
“多有財利，行事不義，不如少有財利，行事公義。”
這段經文給了我們一個很重要的對比。
在聖經的語境中，財利代表著收成（農耕情景）或收入（商業情景）。經文描述了兩種人生選擇，一種是雖然擁有豐厚的財富，但其獲取手段卻不符合聖經的原則；另一種則是雖然財富不多，僅僅足夠日常衣食住行，卻是按照神的真理去生活。
這觸及了我們生命中最核心的價值觀。在希伯來傳統中，財富往往被視為神的祝福，但聖經在這裡特別提醒我們，財富的多寡並非最重要的，關鍵在於獲得財富的手段。如果一個人財迷心竅，為了賺錢而不擇手段、違背真理，那這些財富並非來自神的祝福。相反，若我們堅持按真理行事，即便物質上並不富裕，我們所擁有的一切也是神所賜予的福氣。
因此，我們每個人都必須誠實地回答一個問題：在我們的人生目標中，是跟隨聖經原則生活重要，還是追求金錢重要？這是一個關乎生命的抉擇。

“Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.”
This passage provides us with a very important contrast. In the biblical context, wealth or gain represents the harvest (in an agricultural setting) or income (in a commercial setting). The scripture describes two life choices: one where a person possesses abundant wealth, but the means of acquiring it do not align with biblical principles; and another where wealth is modest, perhaps only enough for daily necessities, yet the person lives according to God’s truth.
This touches upon the most core values of our lives. In Hebrew tradition, wealth was often viewed as a blessing from God, but the Bible specifically reminds us here that the quantity of wealth is not the most important factor; the key lies in the means by which that wealth is obtained. If a person is obsessed with money and uses any means necessary to earn it—violating the truth in the process—then that wealth is not a blessing from God. Conversely, if we insist on acting according to the truth, even if we are not materially wealthy, everything we possess is a blessing bestowed by God.
Therefore, each of us must honestly answer one question: in our life goals, is it more important to live according to biblical principles, or is the pursuit of money more important? This is a choice that concerns the very essence of life.
